whats your favourite muscle car and why?

ive been driving for little over a year now and i want to buy a used classic car. i just cant drive my family’s 1997 for escort lx
my mom uses it alot and my dad drives his 1972 Ford LTD Country Squire and I like the country squire better than the both because it is a big American car thats what i like large sized cars . and the great sounding engine!

but i also like the the classic American muscle from 60′s to the 80′s

it needs to be cheap enough to maintain ( some of the things i can do my self oil change, wheels, lights etc.)

oh and besides your recommenced car please put a brief specifications list of what the car has ( hp,engine,interior etc.)

im young i don’t have the money to buy a brand new car! when i buy im buying used!

here are some of my favorite manufactures

*cadillac
* lincoln
* ford
* dodge
* cheverlet

any more a welcome

thanks for the help!

and can someone please explain what the different car body types are? like A,B,C,D
what are those body types?
what do they look like?

A CORVETTE is the ONLY muscle car ever built.

    If you’re young and don’t have a lot of cash, a lot of the really "classic" muscle cars are going to be out of your price range (Chargers, Challengers, Mustang fastbacks, GTO’s etc go for more than most new cars).

    If you look at some of the Chevy Monte Carlos, Buick Regals, and Olds Cutlass’ from the 1980′s, you can pick those up for cheap, and you can do some mods to them too. Just make sure they have a 350 V8 – NOT a 305 V8, and NOT a V6. You could also pick up a late 80′s-early 90′s Mustang or something.

    I own a 1967 chevelle It has a small block 327 with a Muncie M22 4 speed 12 bolt with 3:73 rear gears .A big block would be better but what the hell it’s mine and it’s paid for. The mid size chevys 1964 to 72 were A bodies

    I drive a 1984 Buick Park Ave and I love it, the only thing I don’t like is all of the money I spend on filling it up, these gas prices are no joke and they aint going down any time soon.

    To drive a big car like that will cost you, especially those muscle cars they need more TLC then the newer cars so you will be pouring out more money.

    My suggestion to you is to stick with a Honda or Toyota they are not American cars but they sure are good on fuel and they don’t cost as much to maintain. This is going to be your first vehicle keep it simple and affordable for you. Don’t worry about body types or any of that other stuff.

    Focus on what you can afford and how you are going to maintain it. My first car was a Mazda my mom gave it to me when I was 15yrs old, I loved it. It got me around and I didn’t have to spend too much money on it, I wish I still had it. Be smart, don’t jump into something you can’t handle. GOOD LUCK!

    old muscle cars are out of your price range unless you buy a basket case and then you will have a ton of money in it to fix it up unless you really get lucky and find one that somebody just wants to get rid of, like a prior person said if you can find a 80′s rear wheel drive car that would be the best situation for you, they are out there and still affordable and you can put big engines in them and they will haul a-s, that is your best bet.

    if i could buy one it would be a plynuth superbird with a 440 sixpack. just enough of them where made to be in nascar and most went straight to the track. i found one on ebay that had the paint redone(still needed a new one again) and the interior was a wreck. but it sold for $300,000. so out of your price range. i would sugest staying with a newer car and save for your dream car.

    A, B, C, D, E, K, M body types are mostly just identifiers for manufacturers. They have been used on completely different types of vehicles even within the same company. Part of it is just the size of the vehicle.
    If you want an older car but don’t have the money to spend on the highly sought after cars like a Camaro, Charger, Mustang look for some others. The Nova, Falcon, Aspen(1976-1980), Volare(same years), a lot of AMC cars all came with V8′s that put out fairly decent power. Just do a little searching online and you should find something good.
